Psychosomatic illness is attracting a body of abstruse and ?rudite literature which is gradually adding a great deal to our knowledge of the relations of mind and body under stress, and in health. But much of it is incomprehensible to the layman and even to the general practitioner, since it presupposes knowledge ^'hich in fact they have not got. Dr. O'Neill sets out to remedy this defect by providing a book which is both an introduction to the subject and also a useful work ?f reference : the main part consists of a concise survey of the various symptoms and the psychological factors involved. He is to warmly congratulated on his success and the book can be cordially recommended to all interested : it will probably be of most value to concientious general practitioners.
